Entente Cordiale
Our twinned clubs are, in France,Vallee D'or and in Sri Lanka, Beruwala.
Our friends from France visit us for a weekend in the spring and we travel over to France in the Autumn.
Fundraising
Our annual monster bottle stall at Emsworth Show is always a big hit with everyone and raises considerable funds for local charities. If you would like to help with this please email us.
We are regularly seen at shows and events around Havant with our furry dog raffle. This gives all an opportunity to win the perfect pet. Our Mayor was recently lucky winner and with her busy schedule is grateful that there is not too much dog walking needed!
Community Support
Our local activities continue to be varied and focussed on people in the Havant area. Be it practical assistance or an opportunity for something special we aim to assist those who find life offers them particular challenges.
Portsmouth FC has enjoyed some varied fortunes and uncertain times recently. Nevertheless, they have loyal fans. We have been able to ensure that some challenged young people who would normally have no opportunity to see a game, got to Fratton Park. Win or lose is no matter, it's always a very special and exciting Saturday for those youngsters.
The Round the Harbour walk organised and supported by all the Lions Clubs in the local area enjoyed good weather this year. The many walkers had a fun day out and raised money for their selected charities. Plan ahead- look out for this in early summer 2011. Do something a little different, get a little fitter, raise money for whatever charity you wish, have some outdoor fun and get a medal. Quite a lot for just one day out!
