This issue will only affect our customers who have Advanced Email and send email using their own domain name.
ISPs make changes which block outgoing email
In the past few days a number of Broadband ISPs have made a change to their service which has upset outgoing email for users who don't rely on the ISP to send outgoing mail. This includes SiteWeave customers who send mail from their own domain name using Advanced Email boxes.
Your Broadband ISP probably didn't tell you they were going to create these problems - ours didn't - but the fix is fairly simple - see below:
The short answer to allow you to send email again
ISPs have been blocking Port 25 - normally used for outgoing email.
Change this Port Number to 587
A longer explanation of how to make the change
Step 1: Open Outlook Express ( procedure for other email programs will be similar)
Step 2: Click Tools then Accounts in the drop down menu.
Step 3: Select the 'Mail' tab
Step 4: Highlight your email account
Step 5: Click Properties - takes you to new screen
Step 6: Select the 'Advanced' tab - takes you to new screen
Step 7: Enter a new port number '587'
Step 8: Click 'OK' to finish the changes and close the screen
Now close any remaining dialogue boxes and you are ready to send email again.
